Health vs Fitness, Great Advice!

Have you ever woken up one morning with the compelling intention to get fit, lose weight and this time really see it through? You start exercising, go on a severe calorie cutting diet, follow all the best advice, jogging, weights etc. But then get no real results, interests lags, and back you go, down into the rut of general unfitness.

Well, more likely than not, you missed a step.

The very first thing you needed to do, before concentrating on fitness, is get your body healthy. This means eating well, stop putting bad things into your body, raise the mineral content of your body by actively taking minerals and eating greans, regularly sleep well and generally do those things you know of already, or can research and find out about, that promote good health.

By the way, eating well does not mean cutting calories, it means eating foods that are healthy for the body. It means including lots of raw organic veggies and fruits in your diet. There are a tremendous number of  books written on the subject. Fit for Life, written by Marilyn and Harvey Diamond, is a pretty good one

Good health here simply means that your body is operating well; it’s not overwhelmed trying to handle all the sodas, cigarette smoke, junk food, chemically grown food, smog, alchohol, drugs and all the other bodily sins that go along with today’s day and age. You’ll also notice a great boost in immune system function and general wellness.

Once you have that, and yes, it may take a month or two to start, you will find, as I did, that getting fit is not a struggle, but a joy. You can start exercising, doing those miracle weight loss programs, jogging, or whatever your interest is. The way you will have that fit body you want is by getting healthy first.

If you’re serious about getting fit, first review your lifestyle and figure out the healthy changes to make and then start exercise once you have improved health. It’s about a million times easier this way, trust me.
